On Wednesday 11 January, staff at The South Western Ambulance Service (SWAST) will be on strike. It is urging the public to think carefully before dialling 999 during industrial action, so it has crews available for the most life-threatening conditions and can prioritise these patients.
It is clear this is no time to be complacent and the risk of serious illness is very real, so with nearly 350,000 available vaccination appointments next week it is important that everyone eligible comes forward and gets their Covid and flu jabs at the earliest opportunity.
