About us
From 1 July 2022, Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the statutory NHS organisation responsible for planning and delivering local health and care services.
NHS Somerset is the statutory NHS organisation responsible for implementing a health and care strategy developed by the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP).
Working collaboratively with primary care partners, foundation trusts, local councils, the voluntary sector and other partner organisations we also oversee the planning, performance, financial management and transformation of the local NHS. All partners working together form the Somerset Integrated Care System (ICS).
On 1 July NHS Somerset’s Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) ceased to exist and its functions were transferred to NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB).
NHS Somerset is the public name of NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB).
‘Improving Lives’ is the Somerset county strategy, informed by the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) and owned by the Health and Wellbeing Board. It sets out how we will work to deliver improvements for our population.
The Fit for my future strategy will form the basis of the Somerset Health and Care strategy, summarising how we plan to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Somerset. It will set out how the Somerset ICS will deliver the fourth element of Improving Lives strategy and will guide our future system planning and prioritisation.
