NHS Somerset Green Plan

We recognise the climate emergency and through the delivery of this Green Plan we will meet NHS national targets of net zero carbon emissions by 2040 and make our contribution to the goal of a carbon neutral Somerset by 2030.

Frome Medical Practice

Green Health Connectors

We know that we are living in a climate and ecological emergency, and this is also connected to our health and wellbeing.

Charlotte Carson who runs the Green Health Connectors in Frome talks about how making positive choices to our health and wellbeing can be good for us as well as our planet. Green Health Connector's help people to feel more confident talking about climate and health win-wins and build local knowledge on the support, this is currently being run successfully in Frome, Somerset - but it's easy to set something up in your area too.

Reducing the carbon footprint of asthma inhalers

Did you know that some inhalers for asthma produce the same amount of greenhouse gases as a car journey of 75 miles? Somerset is one of the best areas in the country for reducing the amount of greenhouse gases used in asthma inhalers - we have managed to reduce this by over 25%.
