Armed Forces Outreach Service (AFOS)
We are currently running ten AFOS services across Somerset. They are open to anyone in the Armed Forces community and are a chance to chat with others over a free brew or to seek specific advice from the professionals who attend.
Ray's experience
We understand that sometimes it can be hard to take that first step to try something new.
Some people come along for specific support and advice, but many people just come to find out what we are able to offer. Some visit for a chat and a brew. Some come regularly and some come once.

Evening outreach sessions for 2026
We always try to be responsive to the needs of Somerset's Armed Forces population.
We appreciate that many members of the Armed Forces community work during the daytime, or have family commitments which prevent them from attending our regular outreach sessions.
We are delighted to announce the launch of our 'pop-up' outreach service, which will initially take place across five Somerset locations. We will be at each of the venues listed opposite between 1900 and 2100, together with at least one of our Armed Forces Link Workers.
