Infection management in care settings
The team is here to support the effective implementation of infection prevention and management in nursing, residential and learning disability settings
We work within the Quality directorate and part of our role is to work collaboratively to support healthcare professionals across the Somerset health and care system.
Our system partners include the local authority and UKHSA to support and guide homes with infection prevention and management. This can be:
- Educational support
- Visits
- Bi-monthly newsletter
- Virtual advice clinics
We deliver a range of IPM support in health and social care settings i.e. nursing and residential homes, schools, learning disability homes and Primary Care, where we have developed trusted working relationships.
