Have Your Say: Take the Somerset Health Data Survey

We want to hear from you

As part of our work to improve health and care services across Somerset, NHS Somerset has teamed up with Healthwatch Somerset to launch a new Somerset Health Data Survey. This is your chance to share your views on how the NHS stores and uses your health data and help shape the future of care in our county.

Why your views matter

We’re developing the Somerset Linked Data Platform (LDP), a secure system that will anonymously link health and social care data. This will help us better understand local needs, improve services, and support people earlier before their health worsens.

Your feedback will help us make sure this is done responsibly, securely, and in a way that works for everyone.

Why does the NHS collect data?

To provide care, the NHS securely stores information like your medical history, test results, and treatments from GPs, hospitals, and community services. This data also helps us and our partners, including local councils and charities, improve services beyond direct care.

By linking health data with other sources, we can:

  • Spot people who may need extra support sooner.
  • Check how well services meet local needs.
  • Plan better care for the future.

Your privacy matters

All data used in the Somerset Linked Data Platform will be anonymised. That means your personal details won’t be shared. You can read more about how we protect your privacy here.

Take the survey

If you live in Somerset, we’d love to hear your thoughts. The survey only takes a few minutes and your voice will help shape how we use data to improve care.
