Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Emotional Transformation Plan

NHS Somerset Integrated Care Board (ICB) has worked across health, social care, education, youth justice and the voluntary sector in Somerset to develop transformation plans for children and young people’s mental health (CYPMH).

The transformation of (CYPMH) is led at a local level to make sure that professionals across the county can work together to design and provide the best possible services to meet the needs of their communities. These plans are described as ‘living documents’ which means that local areas can review, refresh and republish them every year. This document sits on the ICB website.

Somerset’s local transformation plan provides a vision and a set of priorities; recognising the importance of equipping and supporting children, young people, their parents and families to recognise and understand their mental health and wellbeing needs. Access to appropriate and timely support at the earliest opportunity is vital to help improve mental health and emotional wellbeing; reducing the risk of escalating need further.
