The CCG want to support the health and wellbeing of all of the people of Somerset, by changing the way health and care services in the county are delivered.
As part of this work, in Spring 2020 members of the public were invited to consider an emerging model of community care and same day urgent care. One which will provide services, where practical, closer to where people live, support independence and help everyone maintain their own health.
The valuable input, ideas and suggestions received were a vital first step in helping the CCG to understand what may work and develop their thinking. The CCG would like to thank everyone who supported this early work. During this engagement period, COVID-19 required a shift in focus to support the NHS response to the pandemic. As a consequence, the outcome of the engagement was not shared as originally planned.
Work has taken place behind the scenes during this time to ensure they are in a position to continue having meaningful conversations with communities again when the time was right.
The views shared in 2020 have been independently analysed and reported upon and the findings can be found here: Community settings findings report 2020.
People are now invited to attend an online information session on Monday 27 September from 6pm to 7pm.
The session will be delivered by Maria Heard, Programme Director (Fit for my Future) and Dr Alex Murray, Clinical Director (Fit for my Future). They will outline the findings from the initial engagement, the actions which have been taken following the feedback and talk through the next steps for working together to develop services delivered in the community. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
